This novel project, involving Legal Practice lecturers in collaboration with the Law Clinic, takes the Law Clinic to the community. As part of the requirements for their degree, final year law students are required to offer their services at the Law Clinic. Research and observations made at the Law Clinic helped to identify communities that found it difficult to visit the Law Clinic with their legal issues. This initiative provides a fantastic teaching and learning opportunity for both students and lecturers alike. Based on the success and popularity of the project, project coordinator Lindi Coetzee hopes to expand the reach of the Mobile Law Clinic in the next few years.
